# How subscriptions work and what to enter under Terms

## When creating a subscription or segment with a subscription, you can define the commercial conditions and link users to the correct subscription flow.

**What do I enter under Terms?**

- Enter the URL of the terms and conditions that apply to the subscription.
- This should be a link to the relevant terms and conditions on your own website, so players can open and review them.

**Subscription types**

- bookaball distinguishes between one-time subscriptions, monthly subscriptions and loyalty subscriptions.
- Loyalty subscriptions are used in combination with the Authic loyalty integration.

**Monthly subscriptions**

- Users cannot be added manually to a monthly subscription.
- The user must complete the subscription payment flow themselves. This ensures the recurring payment setup is created correctly.

**One-time subscriptions**

- Users can be added manually to a one-time subscription.
- This is useful when you want to assign a user to a segment or subscription directly, without requiring the user to complete a recurring payment flow.

**Which option should I use?**

- Use a monthly subscription when the player needs to pay on a recurring basis.
- Use a one-time subscription when there is a single payment or when you need the option to add users manually.
- Use the loyalty option when your setup uses the Authic loyalty integration.

| **Good to know** If you use a monthly subscription, do not manually add the user. Let the player complete the payment flow so the recurring payment can be set up correctly. |
