# How credits work
## Credits in bookaball represent monetary value. They are not linked to a fixed number of minutes or a fixed booking duration.
**Credit value**
- 1 credit equals €1.
- For example, a balance of 30 credits represents €30 of value.
**Using credits for bookings**
- When credits are available on a player account, they can be used as value toward an eligible booking or purchase.
- The number of credits used depends on the price of the booking or product, not on the duration alone.
**Example**
- A court booking costs €24. If the booking can be paid with credits, 24 credits represent the same value as €24.
- This means that 1 credit does not equal 30 minutes, one hour or any other fixed amount of playing time.
**Credits and cancellations**
- When an administrator cancels a booking, the administrator can choose whether the credits used for the booking should be returned to the player.
